Alkimos is one of the fastest-growing corners of Perth’s northern corridor, and most of its pools are young: fibreglass shells fresh from installation, equipment still under warranty, interiors that haven’t seen their first full summer. That first year matters more than people realise. Incorrect early water balance is how brand-new interiors end up stained, scaled or faded years ahead of schedule — and how warranty claims get knocked back.

We know new pools well. We do handover walk-throughs for Barrier Reef Pools, taking new owners through their equipment before the first swim. There’s also the construction factor. Alkimos is still being built, and half-finished streets put sand and fine dust in the air constantly — with the coastal wind pushing it straight into new pools. Sediment builds surprisingly fast here, and it needs vacuuming out before it beds into a new interior.
