Pool Clean-Out After Concrete Work

Post-Concrete Pool Clean · Perth

Concrete in your pool?
Don’t run the filter.

Trades poured exposed aggregate around your pool and dropped half of it in. Or pressure-cleaned the surrounds without covering the water. Stop your filtration system the moment you see debris — every minute it runs is grinding cement and gravel through your pump and filter cartridge. We come in with our own equipment, vacuum the lot out, and rebalance your chemistry before the cement spikes the pH.

If any of this sounds familiar

You’re in the right place.

Tradies don’t always clean up after themselves. We see this every other week — new pool builds, exposed aggregate jobs, deck pressure cleans gone wrong. It’s fixable, but the longer you wait, the worse it gets.

“The concreter just left and my pool’s full of dust.”

Cement dust settles on the bottom and into your skimmer. Looks innocent, but it’s already raising your pH and grinding through anything that pumps it. Standard. Fixable.

“They cleaned the surrounds and didn’t cover the water.”

Pressure-cleaning exposed aggregate without protecting the pool dumps months of mould, algae, and grit straight in. Worst form of mess to deal with after the fact.

“I can see gravel on the bottom.”

Aggregate stones are the silent killer. They get sucked into your pump and shred the impeller. Don’t run the filter, don’t try to vacuum it. Call us.

“My pump’s making weird noises since the trades came.”

That’s gravel grinding through. Switch off your filtration system right now. We’ll come and clean it out before the damage is permanent.

Why every hour matters

This is a clock.

Concrete in pool water isn’t just an eyesore — it’s actively destroying things. Here’s what each hour costs you the longer it sits.

pH spike

Chemistry blown

Cement dust raises pH dramatically. Causes scaling, skin irritation, and a long expensive rebalance.

$800+

Pump impeller

Aggregate stones destroy variable-speed pump impellers fast. Replacement is $800 minimum, often more.

$200–400

Filter cartridge

Cement dust embeds permanently in cartridge fabric. Once it’s in there, the filter is done.

Permanent

Surface staining

Cement on plaster or pebble for more than a few days etches into the surface. No coming back from that.

What we do

Five steps. We bring everything.

No need to run your filter. No need to do anything yourself. We turn up with our own pump, our own vacuum, and the chemistry knowledge to put your pool back to balanced.

1

Inspect

Look at the debris, severity, water chemistry, and equipment. Quote in writing on the spot.

2

Vacuum

Heavy-duty vacuum with our pump. Your filtration stays off. Your equipment is never at risk.

3

Filter clean

If you ran your filter before we got there, we strip it down and clean. If you didn’t, you’ve saved $200+.

4

Rebalance

pH, alkalinity, chlorine, calcium hardness all back to spec. Cement messes up all of these.

5

Re-test

48 hours later we re-test water and confirm it’s holding. Surface stain check too.

Pricing

Fair, transparent, no surprises.

Fixed quote based on pool size, with hourly rate built in for severity. We quote in writing before any work starts — no scope creep, no “while we were there” surprises.

What’s in the clean-out.

Pricing depends on pool size and how much debris is in there. We assess on the first visit and quote in writing before any work starts.

  • Initial assessment, water test & equipment check
  • Heavy-duty vacuum (our pump — not yours)
  • Manual scoop / net for larger pieces
  • Filter strip & clean if you ran your filtration
  • Full chemistry rebalance after
  • 48-hour re-test & surface check

Chemicals charged separately, depending on severity. Optional acid spot-treatment if surface staining detected.

Why us, not the concreter who made the mess

We fix this. They don’t.

Concreters and pressure cleaners don’t know pool chemistry. They’ll throw a hose at it, run your filter, and leave. Half the time we get called in to fix what they broke.

Our equipment, not yours

We bring our own pump and vacuum. Your pump and filter stay safely turned off. No equipment damage on our watch.

Pool chemistry expertise

Cement spikes pH dramatically. Concreters don’t know this. We do, and we rebalance it properly the first time.

Same techs you trust

If you’re already a service-plan customer, the same crew you know turns up. No new faces, no learning curve.

Family-run, 12 years deep

The owner answers the phone. Quote in writing. Same-week service across Perth. No upsell, no surprise costs.

We won’t sell you a pump

Concreters love telling you “your pump’s stuffed, time for a new one.” We’ll diagnose first, replace only if it actually is.

Documented properly

Plain-English service report after every visit. Photos before / during / after. Useful if you need to chase the original tradie.

What to do right now.

If you’ve just spotted concrete dust, aggregate, or grit in your pool — do these three things in order, then call us.

1

Switch off filtration

Find the breaker / timer for your pool pump and turn it off. Do this before anything else.

2

Don’t vacuum it

Don’t try to use your own vacuum. The debris will go straight through your filter and back to the pool.
